At least 28 people died when a plane carrying 181 people crashed at an airport in South Korea.
The plane of Jeju Air returning from Bangkok, Thailand has crashed during landing at Muan International Airport in South-West Korea.
According to Yonhap news organization, the Boeing 737-800 plane with 175 passengers and 6 crew members skidded on the runway and crashed into the wall. It is said that there are 173 Koreans and 2 Thai citizens on the plane.
Emergency service officials said that the rescue operation is continuing and at least 2 people have been rescued alive. They say that they are trying to rescue the passengers in the rear of the plane.
Public footage on social media showed the plane skidding off the runway and crashing into a wall . Soon after that, the plane caught fire and a big plume of smoke was seen.
The cause of the accident is not yet clear. But it is said that there may have been a problem with the landing gear of the plane after it collided with the bird.
