Indian National Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has been elected for the fourth time in the Lok Sabha elections. He was elected as Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram region of Kerala defeating BJP candidate Rajiv Chandrasekhar who is also Union Minister.
Tharoor defeated Chandrasekhar by a margin of 16 thousand 77 votes. While Tharoor got 3 lakh 58 thousand 155 votes, Chandrasekhar got 3 lakh 42 thousand 78 votes . Tharoor had previously won from Thiruvananthapuram in 2009, 2014 and 2019.
Tharoor is known as a strong and intellectual leader in Indian politics . He has also held the responsibility of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
