Why are Lumbini Development Fund employees protesting?

After the Lumbini Development Fund employees, who started the protest program from 8th of July, locked the head office of the fund from 13th, Lumbini became restless. Even though the protest has been going on for so many days, the fund has not even started dialogue and discussion with them.

While the employees are protesting, the vice president of the fund Lharkyal Lama, member-secretary Sanuraja Shakya, treasurer Dhundiraj Bhattarai and planning manager Smita Bhatt are in Kathmandu . Treasurer Bhattarai is ill and undergoing treatment. Although member secretary Sanuraja Shakya resigned on July 5, his resignation has not been accepted.  

The employees' union has demanded accumulated leave, fund allowance and dearness allowance . By revising the staff regulations made in 2079, they have put forward the demand that all the employees who are currently under service contracts should be filled through a limited competitive examination so that the age limit does not apply.

President of Lumbini Development Fund Employees' Union, Abdul Ofa, said that the agitation will continue until their demands are met. He also said that the officials of the development fund ignored his demands. He said, 'What are they doing in Kathmandu? Why are they ignoring our demands? We want to know about this matter .' He said that due to neglect, they were forced to make a strong protest. said, 'If our demands are not heard even now, we will be forced to protest more strongly.' One of Lumbini Development Fund  The employee said that they had to come to the protest under compulsion. He said that there is a difference in the structure of the facility  She said that the protest will continue until the demand is met.

Khagendra Kafle, head of the security branch of Lumbini Development Fund, said that even though the employees came in the protest, there was no shortage of security arrangements. But he said that he was confused about how long the protest would last. said, 'The movement is not beneficial for both the employees and the organization, so the fund should not delay the coordination and exit.'
