Vijay Jaisi, director general of road department, said that in view of the drought, work is being done to facilitate traffic on the main road. According to him, the Narayangadh-Butwal, Nagadhunga-Muglin and BP highways, which have major problems, are being worked on more cautiously.
"Due to the damage to the Binayi Khola bridge on the Narayangadh-Butwal road, we have made a diversion in the river and operated the vehicles," he said. He said that the vehicles are being diverted to other highways and roads in the lower section.
The construction work of 95 km Nagadhunga-Muglin road up to Nagadhunga-Naubise has been completed. He said that they are monitoring the risk areas of landslides. "We have kept the machines in readiness in the areas prone to landslides in this section," he said, "There is no problem like last year in Jhaple Khola and Krishnabhir." He said that construction companies are operating in the field after contracting the section except 2.5 km under the BP highway. The 2.5 km road will be built by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
First, the road was built by digging a hole, but now the road has been made higher by placing gravel and big stones on the wall so that it does not flow during normal rains. He said that after two years, this road will become a two-lane road and there will be no problem.
