The highway that was damaged by the floods last October will be operated with temporary repairs in the coming monsoon. Keshav Kumar Sharma, secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, said that the repair work is being done for that. Similarly, due to the flood damage to the bridge connecting different districts, vehicles will be operated by installing a belay bridge there, he said.
"The traffic will not be stopped because of the bridge, we have worked accordingly," he said to Kantipur, "We will operate the BP highway, which has been heavily damaged by floods, during the dry season by temporarily repairing it, but it will not be done permanently now."
"We have worked so that vehicles do not stop during normal monsoons," he said, "If it rains for two to four hours, vehicles may have to be stopped at night."
Kanti highway is being worked on under contract. He said that even though only half of the Bagua river on this highway is currently being built, the entire belibridge will be built. He also informed that work has been started to prevent landslides in Jhaple river and Krishnabhir of Nagadhunga-Muglin road section.
According to him, the one-way two-lane road will be paved in Downne before the monsoon.
