Avinash Napit has not done video editing course. Nor has he taken any separate classes in visual effects (VFX) and animation. However, he is good at animating videos and using video effects. In Kantipur's video program 'Beyond the Feeds', Avinash shared the story of his initial struggles and the ambivalence of advancing his career to his passion for work.

"It's been more than 10 years since I learned video editing," said 28-year-old Avinash, "If someone asks, I don't have any certificate." The projects I have done and my experience are my certificates.' Avinash is a visual effects (VFX) artist. Apart from this, his other credentials are as a director, content creator, dancer and dance choreographer.

Avinash's father taught him to dance so that he should not only study at home but also participate in outdoor activities. "At home, I was brought up in such a way that I should focus not only on studies but also on extra activities," he says, "I used to dance during SLC". I got good at it and then did choreography for two years. While studying at

plus two, he learned video editing but not from any academy. 'How did he go from being a dancer and a video editor to becoming a VFX artist?' He said that one day while he was sketching in a cafe, he met a brother who does motion graphics on Avenues TV. Said, "Dai told me to teach VFX". I also learned why not at Free of Cost.' After learning from him for a year, his journey as a video editor, motion graphics artist and VFX began.'

gradually moved from video editor to content creator to VFX artist . But even knowing all these things, he said that he was confused as to what to proceed with. "I did all this while I was exploring myself." But there is also a dilemma as to where to focus more,'' he said, 'I slowly moved from video editing to VFX. Now I am going to direction and story telling.' Avinash said that the lockdown of Covid-19 helped him to focus on his own interests and he got a chance to improve himself during the free time.

Avinash has now also moved on to the journey of directing . He has also directed a short film called 'Space'. The film won the 'Nepal Short Film Competition-2023'. And from this film, he won the 'Best Director' award. This happiness has led him to the path of film making . That is why he is studying film making.

He didn't stop there. He is now planning to open a company with a plan to get good results by forming a team. I am thinking of opening a company with the aim of providing services to others as well as what I have made myself. There are still many projects in it," he said, "but the project that is going to be done now is with Music Nepal. It is very ambitious . Apart from that, I am supervising the VFX in the new sequence of the film 'Jerry'. It's time for me to move on.'

Avinash is so devoted to his work that it takes him a week to make a 30-second video. He says that it takes a lot of time to animate and use a lot of effects and motion. 3D modeling should be done after shooting. Sometimes the morning meal is at 5 o'clock in the evening,' says Avinash about his working style, 'My time is Damadol. If my project is done, I will spend a week making a video even without sleep. After 12 o'clock for me I enjoy working. While other people's brains are resting, our brains are working actively.' He said that

now runs vertical video and uses hyper edit on it. Even if you want to attract people to the video, you have to put on a little bit of frills. People skip as soon as it is plain,'' he says, 'What social media experts say is that the video must be something interesting within a second.' This increases the view time . I adopt the same thing . I make videos to hook people by talking or using effects.'

Similarly, he says that there are a lot of VFX people in Nepal and if you do a good job, you will get a good income in Nepal. "I first charged 2 lakh rupees for making a video of 5 influencers in 2019". I charge according to my hard work,' he says, 'If it works well, it is good in Nepal . Many people are telling me that I have good skills and go out. But this is what I am enjoying.'
