It has been 6 years since the Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion started. But the construction progress has not reached 60 percent. According to the contract agreement in March 2075, its work should be completed by July 2079. However, due to lack of construction materials and covid-19, the deadline was extended for the first time till 11th July 2018.
However, the work was not completed within that time. The deadline was extended for the second time till 8 July 081, the work was not completed. The deadline has been extended for the third time till 8 July 082. So far construction progress is only 57.50 percent. Chudaraj Dhakal, project director of the Directorate of Projects (ADB), said that although all the work could not be completed before the monsoon, the one-way road would be blackened to make it easier for vehicles to operate. He says that after the
push, the pace of work has increased. "In the early days, due to lack of construction materials, cutting of trees, delay in moving electric poles, the work could not speed up," Dhakal said. The road with a distance of 113 km has been divided into two sections and the contract has been awarded. The contract was taken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. By dividing it into two parts, the contract amount is 16 billion 99 million 52 lakh 96 thousand rupees.
"We understand that there is a problem with smoke, dust and traffic jams," he said.
