A pipe of Melamchi near Thapathali Chowk in Kathmandu burst and water flowed into the neighboring shops, causing a loss of lakhs.

Satyanaran Mehta, who is dealing in wholesale medicine, said that there was a loss of more than five million rupees when a pipe broke and flowed inside the medicine godown. He said, 'Now who will compensate for this ? For this, who is to be told?' On Tuesday morning, when the water pipe burst, the secondary road leading to the maternity hospital had a pothole and the pedestrian crossing was also destroyed. The water well entered about a dozen shops.

Narayan Dharel, a local grocer, said that Jenten avoided damage by moving the goods inside his shop, but water seeped into some shops nearby. He said, 'This Melamchi water is like a water bomb. Where and how often the pipe breaks and causes damage that will not end .' Who will be responsible for such damage? He also asked that .

A similar situation was also seen in Babarmahal on 30th of January. After the pipe burst, the road in front of District Court Kathmandu and the government offices inside the forest complex were flooded.

Now the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has cordoned off the place where the water has burst. And the road to Narvik Hospital is closed.
