Nepal Telecom has started the process of converting 3G services to 4G by gradually shutting down its 3G service. The company has informed customers using 3G SIMs through voice calls and SMS to change their SIMs.
The statement said that customers can contact the nearest telecommunications office to upgrade their old SIMs to 4G. 'To change to 4G, customers can get a 4G SIM by showing their citizenship certificate, national identity card, passport, driving license or any other official identity document that reveals their identity,' the telecom said.
Nepal Telecom has accelerated the process of converting 3G users to 4G. The company believes that using a 4G technology SIM will improve the speed of mobile internet and the quality of service compared to 3G, which will benefit customers.
To find out whether a SIM is 4G technology or not, you can dial *444#. The telecom has stated that this will enable 4G service as well as high-quality VoLTE service.
