The competition, which will be held from January 17 to 19 at the college premises in Changunarayan, Bhaktapur, will involve finding weaknesses in the Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) system and helping to improve it. The college will also host the 'Cyber ​​Security Symposium 2026' and 'TechSprint Hackathon'.

The organizers have announced that the program will have a 48-hour bug bounty and system penetration testing. This will strengthen the security of Nepal's critical financial infrastructure and provide an opportunity for those interested in cybersecurity to find and report security vulnerabilities (bugs) in the system, the statement said.

Those who want to participate in the Pen Testing Challenge will have to register by paying a registration fee of Rs 500 by January 15. The best performers will be awarded a certificate along with a prize of Rs 20,000.

Before participating in the competition, participants will be trained on the basic principles of ethical hacking, vulnerability detection techniques and reporting methods on January 16, according to the Computer Engineering Students Society.

A 48-hour bug bounty challenge will be organized on January 17. Participants will have to find vulnerabilities (bugs) in the designated NCHL systems. NCHL has been operating important financial services like Nepal's 'Connect IPS' and National Payment Switch.

Similarly, the 'Cyber ​​Security Symposium 2026' and 'TechSprint Hackathon' will also be held at Nepal Engineering College from January 16 to 19. The organizers have stated that special emphasis will be placed on extensive discussions and expert interaction on current challenges and future security strategies in the field of cyber security.
