Meta, the parent company of social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, has suggested new ways for brands to increase the effectiveness of 'Reels'. Based on a study conducted in collaboration with research firm 'Toluna', Meta has released tips for growing branding and business through Reels.

According to the study, reels currently account for more than 50 percent of the total time users spend on Instagram. In addition, video viewing time has increased by 30 percent compared to last year. But creating content that touches the hearts of viewers is considered the main challenge at the moment.

Meta's suggestions for brand building and 'direct response' :-

• 1. Give a message at the beginning: The brand name and main message should be shown within 5 seconds of the video starting. By doing this, the likelihood of customers purchasing the product (purchase intent) increases by 1.7 times.
• 2. Dynamic branding: The study has shown that showing the brand logo or name not only in a single scene of the video but also in different scenes and places increases the likelihood of purchasing by 1.8 times.
• 3. Mixing voice and music: Using both 'voice over' (speech) and music (background music) in a video increases brand interest by 2 times.
• 4. Clear messaging: Conveying a message through both audio and video at the same time is effective. This increases brand value by 1.8 times.
• 5. Show lifestyle (slice of life): Showing the brand in common activities that people do in their daily lives increases purchase intention by 1.5 times.

Meta has also given 6 tips for those who want to sell products or get customer feedback along with building a brand.

• 1. 'Product is king': Show your product (product) in reels not just once but repeatedly. This increases the likelihood of purchase by 2.7 times.
• 2. Balanced branding: Focus more on the product. It has been shown that the likelihood of purchase increases by 4.8 times when the brand logo or name is displayed for less than 25 percent of the total video time.
• 3. Tell a story: Presenting the product as a short story with its main message and its features yields the best results. This style can increase the likelihood of purchase by up to 5.3 times.
• 4. Call to action: Placing a message like 'buy', 'contact' or 'learn more' in the video in audio or video increases the business by 1.9 times.
• 5. Music and voice: Just like in branding, the combination of voice and music for sales increases the likelihood of purchase by 2.1 times.
• 6. Use of emojis: Studies have shown that using emojis for fun in videos can increase the likelihood of purchase by 2.5 times.
