What you should know

The company has stated that Worldlink 6G WiFi, presented as the internet of the future, will provide 40 percent more coverage and up to four times higher throughput (data capacity) than existing 6G WiFi routers.

Worldlink Chairman and Managing Director Dilip Agarwal, while informing about the capacity, speed and latency of the 6G router, claimed that they have provided such a router at a reasonable price compared to other countries. He also shared his experience of establishing an email service in Nepal with a computer and modem from the US when he was a student in 1995. Recalling the launch of dial-up internet service with a speed of 33.6 kbps in 1997, he said that Nepal has taken a leap forward in the new generation of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services.

Worldlink has stated that the new WiFi 6G router will easily manage the load of multiple devices in the house, there will be no buffering in 4K streaming, there will be less latency in online gaming and there will be no interruption in Zoom calls. Nokia, which is associated with Worldlink as a technical partner, has stated that they will further collaborate in expanding Nepal's fixed broadband service.

Nokia representatives highlighted the partnership with Worldlink at an event organized on Sunday. Nokia's Market Development Director Nemanja Pilipovic spoke about Nepal's digital progress and believed that it has helped in the delivery of services and the improvement of Nepal's economy. 'What is happening in Nepal now will take Nepal a step forward in the digital world,' he said, 'Nepal will not only follow others, but can also gradually surpass some.'

At the event, Nokia representative and Head of Sales for India and SAARC Vishal Hemne said that the partnership between Worldlink and Nokia aims to expand high-quality internet services in Nepal. Similarly, Worldlink Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Keshav Nepal claimed that while determining the price of the WiFi Six router, they tried to provide it as cheaply as possible. He said, 'We emphasize on providing services and products at the lowest possible price with minimum and sustainable profit.' Even when Fiber to the Home was launched, the company had made it accessible to many customers by setting affordable prices.''

Worldlink's 'Six G Internet' package is available in two types - Internet only and 'Cine Plus'. According to the company, the Six G Internet package has 200, 400, 500 and 600 Mbps options. In the three-month package, 200 Mbps internet is priced at Rs 3,450, 400 Mbps at Rs 3,750, 500 Mbps at Rs 4,200 and 600 Mbps at Rs 5,300.

What are ‘Six G’ and ‘WiFi-Six’?

According to Worldlink, Six G internet is based on ‘WiFi-Six’ technology. Such internet is suitable for smart TVs, laptops, mobiles, cameras and other IoT devices in modern homes. This technology is said to ensure that even when many devices are connected at the same time, there is no loss in speed and is reliable in terms of security.
