American John Martinis, British John Clark and French Michel Devoret 2025  was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.

According to the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, this year's Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded 'for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization seen in an electrical circuit'.

They will receive 11 million Swedish krona (about 1 crore 65 lakh rupees), a gold medal and a certificate. The award will be presented on December 10 in Stockholm.

John Clarke was born in 1942 in Cambridge, England. He received his PhD from Cambridge University, UK in 1968. He is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, USA. 

Similarly, Michel Devoret was born in 1953 in Paris, France. He received his PhD from Paris-Sud University, France in 1982. He is a professor at Yale University, New Haven, CT and University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. 

American scientist John Martinis was born in 1958. He received his PhD from University of California, Berkeley, USA in 1987. He is a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA.
