Following the government's decision to ban unregistered social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter) has sent an email saying it wants to register in Nepal. X wrote an official email to the ministry on Friday asking about the listing process.

Ministry spokesperson Gajendra Kumar Thakur confirmed that X has sent an email about being listed in Nepal. Eliza Marko has sent an email to the ministry from X's office in Singapore, he said, asking about the documents required for registration in Nepal. The ministry has already sent its reply.

X took this step after the ministry decided to close unregistered social networks in Nepal. So far, X has not submitted any official application for registration in Nepal.

According to Thakur, our calendar has gone through the registration process. He clarified that no official letter or request has been received from Meta (mother company of Facebook, Instagram). He said that the ministry is continuing the process of deactivating social networks that do not submit registration applications.
