The company said the office was needed to connect with local partners and build special facilities and equipment for users in the company's second largest market.
India has the highest number of students using ChatGPT. Last year there was a fourfold increase in weekly active users. After Indians complained that its free service was too expensive, OpenAI tested the cheapest plan in India, 'ChatGPT Go'. Its fee is $4.57 per month .
Company has said in a statement that it will open an office in New Delhi . The company's chief executive officer Sam Altman is preparing to come to India next month . The company said that it will provide services and coordination to the users of the entire South Asia from the New Delhi office. Due to the high youth population in this area, ChatGPT users are believed to be on the rise.
