On the occasion of 'National Information and Communication Technology Day-2082', the government has awarded the individuals, organizations and companies who have contributed to the development and promotion of information and communication technology on Friday. In a program organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli distributed ICT awards in eight categories.
National ICT Excellence Award (Male) in the program Prof.Dr. Sashidharram Joshi has been honoured . He has been teaching at the Institute of Engineering Studies of Tribhuvan University for the past four decades.
According to the Ministry of Communication, in 1995, Joshi prepared the first computer advertising course for the university. Along with her, Bandana Sharma has received the National ICT Excellence Award (Female).
Among the public bodies, the Water and Meteorology Department received the National ICT Award (Public Sector) as the best performing organization this year, while the Lalitpur Metropolitan Corporation received the award for the state and local levels.
While Maverium System Pvt Ltd won the National ICT Award (Private Sector) from the private sector, Ninja Infosys Pvt Ltd of Nepalgunj won the award from the state/local level private sector. ICT Innovation Award was given to E-Paper Pvt Ltd, Mahalakshmi Art, Lalitpur in the information technology innovation category and Tekum Digital Pvt Ltd was the winner in the startup award category.
On this occasion, 'Ncell Asiata Limited', PhonePay Payment Solutions and Esewa Limited were honored as the companies paying the most income tax from the information technology sector in the financial year 2080/81 . Similarly, Cedar Gate Services, Sprout Technologies and Leapfrog Technologies were also felicitated for their significant contribution in foreign exchange earnings.
