Bangladeshi veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to play Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket for Pokhara Avengers. Pokhara Avengers, expressing their delight at signing the world-renowned all-rounder, announced this in a statement on Monday.

A top-order batter and left-arm spinner, Shakib has played 71 Tests, 247 One Day Internationals, and 129 Twenty20 Internationals for Bangladesh, scoring nearly 15,000 runs and taking over 700 wickets. In Twenty20 Internationals, his batting strike rate is 121.18 and he has taken wickets at an economy rate of 6.81.
In all forms of Twenty20, he has played 478 matches, scored 7,853 runs at a strike rate of 124.80, and taken 515 wickets at an economy rate of 6.81. Pokhara had already appointed former Sri Lankan international player Ajantha Mendis as coach.
