The championship features six teams from Central Asia: Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. After all teams play each other, the top four teams will reach the semifinals. Nepal's chances of reaching the semifinals have become slim.
In other matches on Friday, Bangladesh defeated Kazakhstan in a competitive game by 20–25, 25–21, 25–23, 21–25, and 15–12. In another match, Uzbekistan beat Sri Lanka 3–1 in sets. Uzbekistan won with scores of 25–23, 22–25, 25–19, and 25–21.
