Karnali Shivraj, the franchise team of the Nepal Volleyball League, has selected actor Rajesh Hamal as its brand ambassador.

At a program held in the capital on Friday, Karnali officially appointed Hamal as its brand ambassador, expressing confidence that his personality, leadership, and inspiration would strengthen Karnali Shivraj’s campaign at the national level.

The Nepal Volleyball League will be held from Bhadra 12 to 20. In the men’s category, the franchise volleyball league is being organized for the first time, with six teams competing.

Earlier, Annapurna Spiker Kings, representing Gandaki, had appointed female player Usha Bhandari as their brand ambassador.

Karnali Shivraj, owned by Lakshara Films Pvt. Ltd., has also unveiled, along with the brand ambassador, the Face of Karnali, Glory of Karnali, and Queens of Karnali.

The Queens of Karnali include national women players Pragati Nath and Kamana Bishwokarma. Pragati is affiliated with New Diamond Sports Club, and Kamana is a player with Nepal Police Club. Sumitra Regmi has been presented as the Glory of Karnali. National team member Sumitra is also a player for New Diamond. Under her leadership, Karnali Yashwis won the franchise women’s league EWVL title for two consecutive editions.

Ravindra Dhant, a well-known mixed martial arts fighter, has been associated as the Face of Karnali. Known as the ‘Bajhangi Tiger’, Ravindra was not present at the event as he is currently in Indonesia for a professional fight. In a video message, Ravindra expressed his belief that Karnali Shivraj would have a strong presence in the Nepal Volleyball League and wished the team success.

On the same occasion, Karnali Shivraj also released its official theme song. The team’s Chief Executive Officer, Ashok Bhatt, said that his team would deliver an impressive performance in the first-ever men’s franchise volleyball league. He said, “Just as we achieved success in the women’s volleyball league through Karnali Yashwis, we believe Karnali Shivraj will achieve similar success in the men’s category. We are ready for this.”

CEO Bhatt said that the team aims to present the pride and identity of Karnali and attract talented youth deprived of opportunities to sports.

Brand ambassador and actor Rajesh Hamal said he felt proud to be associated with Nepal’s national sport, volleyball, and shared that he has a deep connection with Karnali. Hamal was previously associated with Karnali Yashwis as well. He expressed confidence that, just as Yashwis achieved success in women’s volleyball, Karnali Shivraj would find success in men’s volleyball.
