In the match at the Garrison Jinnah Sports Complex, Nepal lost to Sri Lanka after playing five sets. Nepal lost the first set 25–18, but then won the next two sets 25–21 and 25–19, signaling a comeback in the game. However, despite putting up a tough fight in the fourth set, Nepal lost it 25–21. Sri Lanka then took the decisive and final set 15–10 to win the match. Nepal had taken the lead but lost the final set.
Nepal will now play against host Pakistan on Friday. Despite two losses, Nepal has collected 2 points.
The previous day, the Nepali team had also lost to Kazakhstan in a 3–2 set match. On Thursday, Kazakhstan was defeated by Uzbekistan in a competitive match by 3–2 sets (19–25, 25–22, 27–29, 26–24, 16–14). This was Uzbekistan's second win. The previous day, Uzbekistan had defeated Bangladesh by 3–2 sets.
This is Sri Lanka's first win in the championship. On the first day, Sri Lanka had lost to host Pakistan in straight sets, 3–0.
Six teams from Central Asia—Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan—are participating in this championship. After all teams play each other, the top four teams will reach the semifinals.
