The sixth Triyog Inter-School Chess Tournament has begun.
More than 600 players are participating in the tournament, which includes eight events. Organized by Triyog High School, the tournament is being held in a Swiss league system. On Wednesday, selection matches were held for boys and girls up to grade 3, as well as for boys and girls in the grade 4 and 5 group.
The top 20 players from each of the four groups will advance to the final round to be held on Friday. Agrata Acharya remained in first place with a hundred percent wins. All three players from TIEA advanced to the final round.
In the girls' group for grades 1 to 3, Adisi Bhattarai from Euro School scored 5 points. In this event, three players each from Annapurna, Triyog, and Rato Bangala advanced to the final round.
In the boys' group for grades 4 and 5, Aarav Shrestha from Rosebud achieved a hundred percent win record. This tournament, held annually, is being organized this edition to mark the school's 40th anniversary. The tournament was inaugurated by the school's Executive Director Ajit Lama, Principal Chandrayan Pradhan Shrestha, and Deepa Bhatt.
