He won a hard-fought 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over India's Suraj Prabodh in the match held on Tuesday. Prabodh is ranked 650th in the ATP world rankings and ninth in India.

He will face Norway's Baltazar Viger Nordas in the next round on Thursday.
Abhishek is the first and only player from Nepal to compete in the UTR Pro Tennis Tour, a high-level professional tournament that only the world's top 3,000 players participate.
The total prize money of this tournament being held in Bengaluru is 20,000 US dollars. Abhishek, who has participated in three Asian Games, has played a dozen UTR tournaments.
