Gary Sobers, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, passed away on Friday. The West Indies all-rounder passed away at the age of 89.
He played 93 Tests between 1945 and 1974, scoring 8,032 runs. He also took 235 wickets. The left-handed batsman's 365 not out against Pakistan in 1958 stood as the highest score in Test cricket for 36 years.
Sobers also played county cricket for Nottinghamshire in England. Wisden magazine listed him as one of the five greatest cricketers of the 20th century. The West Indies Cricket Board paid tribute to him, saying, "A great innings has come to an end."
