A 5-year agreement has been signed between the Nepal School Sports Federation (NSSF) and the Higher Secondary and Secondary Schools Association of Nepal (HSAN). The main objective of this bilateral agreement is to systematically develop, promote and coordinate institutional school sports in higher secondary schools and colleges affiliated to HSAN across the country, according to NSSF.

The formal memorandum of understanding was signed by NSSF Central President Binod Shrestha and HSAN Central President Yubaraj Sharma. Both organizations will jointly organize and conduct regional, provincial and national level organized sports competitions, and organize competitions such as the U-19 Basketball Championship, NSSF HSAN Cup, HSAN Combat Games and School Premier League, with official recognition from the National Sports Council (NSSC).

Apart from the competitions, it is said that local sports infrastructure will be upgraded, modern sports equipment will be provided to affiliated schools and sports science programs, workshops and physical education courses will be implemented in coordination with NSSF and ISF Academy. An important aspect of the 5-year partnership is to open the doors to the best international sports platforms for Nepali student-athletes, according to NSSF.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by NSSF Vice President Mohan Kumar Karki, International School Sports Federation Executive Committee Member Rajkumar Karki, HISAN General Secretary Ramhari Silwal, CFO Sobin Raj Regmi, members Khadga Bahadur Thapa and Padam Rana.
