In the final of the Bagmati Province-level Mayor Cup Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament, Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Mahankal Rural Municipality will face each other in the men's category. In the women's category, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Bethanchok Rural Municipality will compete against each other.
The final of the tournament, organized by Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center with the support of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, will be held on Saturday.
In the men's category, Madhi Municipality secured third place, while in the women's category, Lalitpur Metropolitan City finished third. In the match for third place held on Friday, Madhi defeated Mailung Rural Municipality in straight sets of 25–21, 25–23, 25–16. Madhi, finishing third, received a prize of 50,000 rupees.
In the women's category, Lalitpur Metropolitan City defeated Gaurishankar Rural Municipality by 3–1 sets. Lalitpur took the lead by winning the first set 25–21 but fell behind in the second set 16–25. However, Lalitpur won both the third and fourth sets 25–23, securing the victory. Lalitpur received a prize of 50,000 rupees.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City defeated Lalitpur 3–2 in sets to secure a place in the final. Kathmandu lost the first set 15–25 but then won the next two sets 25–23 and 25–19. Although Kathmandu lost the fourth set 21–25, they clinched the decisive fifth set 15–5 to advance to the final.
In the second semifinal, Bethanchok defeated Gaurishankar Rural Municipality by 3–1 sets. Bethanchok took the lead by winning the first two sets 25–23 and 25–12 but lost the third set 22–25. However, they won the fourth set 25–19 to reach the final.
In the men's semifinals of the tournament, organized by Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center with the support of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Lalitpur defeated Madhi Municipality and Mahankal defeated Mailung Rural Municipality to secure their places in the final. The winner will receive a prize of 200,000 rupees and the runner-up will receive 100,000 rupees. The organizers have announced that the best player will receive 10,000 rupees, and the best spiker, blocker, setter, and libero will each receive 5,000 rupees.
