Lumbini Lions chief Ishwor GC welcomed Katuwal to the champion team on Sunday and handed over the responsibility.
Bhavana Ghimire was the CEO of Lumbini Lions last season.
Lumbini Lions have announced that Bhavana has been appointed as the Executive Director this time. Last season, Lumbini Lions defeated Sudurpaschim Royals in the final to win the second edition of the NPL. ‘I would like to thank Lumbini Lions for this opportunity. Having been associated with the NPL in the past, I hope that I can play my role more easily. I aim to create a team culture in the corporate house by making business management and sports management a part of it,’ Katuwal said in a Lumbini statement after the appointment.
Katuwal was the CEO of Kathmandu Gorkhaz, another NPL franchise, in the first season. According to Lumbini Lions, Katuwal, a former player and sports enthusiast, has 20 years of experience in the corporate and business sectors. He has worked as the business head at Kantipur Media Group, senior manager at Yamaha and head of strategy at Apex College.
When Nepal Sports Management established Velocity Arena for indoor cricket and football, Katuwal was one of the investors in it.
