The final clash for the title of the KPL Cup International Invitational Cricket Tournament is going to be held between Chinnamasta Lions and Itahari Super Kings.

Chinnamasta has come close to the title by defeating India's RML Sports Academy by 2 wickets in the second qualifier held on Sunday at the Dr. Khalil Azad Sports Ground in Bhokrahanar Singh Rural Municipality, Sunsari.

Chinnamasta, which had earlier lost to Itahari Super Kings by 2 wickets in the first qualifier, has made good use of the second opportunity and set its journey to the final by defeating the eliminator winner RML Sports Academy. Now there is going to be an exciting competition between Chinnamasta and Itahari for the title.

In the second qualifier, RML Sports Academy, which won the toss and batted first, had prepared a competitive total of 174 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Anubhav Singh played a half-century innings of 53 runs for him. He faced 38 balls and hit 4 sixes and 3 fours, but it was not enough for the victory. Manjul Dubey scored 47 runs not out. Amar Chandra added 29 and Chakradhar Dwivedi added 25 runs. Pappu Adav and Firdos Ansari took 2 wickets each for the bowling. In reply, Chhinnamasta, chasing a target of 175 runs, completed the match in 19.4 overs for the loss of 8 wickets and made it to the final. Santosh Karki played the highest half-century innings of 57 runs in Chhinnamasta's victory. He led the team's innings with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes in 34 balls. Adil Alam made 27, Rakesh Kamat 19, Abhishek Karki made an unbeaten 17 and Nitesh Yadav made an aggressive contribution of 13 runs in 6 balls. In the match that went down to the last over, Chinnamasta batted with restraint and achieved a thrilling victory.

Although RML's bowlers took wickets at regular intervals, Chinnamasta's lower-order batsmen withstood the pressure and gave the team victory in the final. Dipendra Yadav and Kshitij Tripathi took 2 wickets each. Now, in the title clash of the tournament, Itahari Super Kings, who are on an undefeated streak, and Chinnamasta Lions, who have made a comeback and reached the final, will face each other on Tuesday. Itahari has already defeated Chinnamasta in the first qualifier, while Chinnamasta will aim to take revenge and lift the title.

The title winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 251,000. The second place team will receive 125,000 and the third place team will receive 50,000. KPL Group has organized a Nepal-India bilateral invitational cricket tournament to continue the cricket game, as the KPL Group was unable to hold the Koshi Pride League on time due to CAN's schedule, said Afzal Hussain, chairman of KPL Group.
