National women's volleyball team spiker Usha Bhandari was honored with the Inner Wheel Dr. Srishti Women's Excellence Award on Saturday.

Volleyball player Usha was honored at a program organized by the International Inner Wheel District 350 on Saturday. This organization, which started in Manchester, England in 1925, has now spread to more than 100 countries around the world.

There are 44 Inner Wheel clubs in Nepal under Inner Wheel District 350. It is the largest social organization for women in the world. The organization has been honoring a Nepali female athlete every year. Last year, the organization honored karate player Erica Gurung.

Usha was presented with a certificate of honor along with Rs 25,000 by the organization's president Srishti Shrestha Prajapati. This time, the honoree was Mandekaji Shrestha, a double gold medalist at the South Asian Games and national karate coach.
