Spain won Group H in the 2026 World Cup after defeating Uruguay 1-0 on Saturday. They have seven points. Along with Spain, Cape Verde, who are making their World Cup debut, have also entered the last 32.
In the next match, Cape Verde played a goalless draw with Saudi Arabia, a result that was enough for them to advance to the next round. Uruguay, on the other hand, was eliminated from the competition with two points. 
Saudi Arabia was also limited to two points. Alex Baena scored the only goal for Spain in the match at the Estadio Guadalajara in the 42nd minute. Spain, considered a strong contender for the title, launched more attacks but could not score.
Uruguay's journey to this World Cup has ended in disappointment. In contrast, Cape Verde entered the next round after drawing three consecutive games, a historic performance for them. Uruguay were reduced to ten men at the end of the match. Agustin Canobio was forced to leave the field after receiving a red card in injury time.
