Tiptop New Diamond Youth Sports Club has won the Madan Bhandari Cup U-19 school-level Bagmati Province girls volleyball tournament.

New Diamond defeated New Diamond Academy in straight sets of 25-16, 25-9, 25-10 in the final held at Angels Sports Academy on Wednesday.

Ganesh Himal came third in the competition organized by Madan Bhandari Sports Academy. Ganesh Himal defeated Saraswati Mavi Helambu 25-18, 25-16, 25-13. The top four teams received prizes of Rs 1 lakh, 50 thousand, 30 thousand and 15 thousand respectively.

New Diamond Youth U-19 Volleyball Champion

Nisha Mahar of New Diamond was declared the best player in the competition. Nisha received a prize of Rs 10 thousand. Jenisha Bishwakarma of New Diamond was adjudged the best spiker, Salina Gurung the best blocker and Kumar Rai the best coach.

New Diamond's Grishma Gurung was named the best defender, Namsar Rana the best setter, and Elisha Shrestha the best server. The best in each category received a prize of Rs. 5,000 each.

The winners were awarded by former vice-president of the National Sports Council and chairman of the organizing academy, Dhruv Acharya, competition coordinator Ram KC, and others. Eight teams competed in the four-day competition on a league-cum-knockout basis.
