Three second-half goals helped Egypt stage a stunning comeback to beat New Zealand 3-1 in their 2026 World Cup Group G match at BC Palace in Vancouver. It was also the first time Egypt had scored three goals in a single World Cup match. The win moved them to the top of the group with four points from two matches.

Mohamed Salah's 67th-minute goal gave Egypt the lead against New Zealand. The former Liverpool player converted a pass from the penalty area to give Egypt a 2-1 lead. This was Salah's 68th goal for Egypt.

New Zealand took a 1-0 lead at half-time in their Group C match against Egypt on Sunday. Finn Samman headed home a corner kick from Tim Payne in the 15th minute. The match at BC Palace in Vancouver was an exciting affair with both teams attacking continuously.
