Kurdan Football Academy Chandragiri has lifted the title of the 6th Thaha Gold Cup football tournament held in Thaha Municipality.

Kurdan Football Academy Chandragiri defeated Chitlang FC by 4-2 goals in a penalty shootout on Saturday at the Indrayanimai field in Thaha Municipality-3. Along with the title, the winner Kurdan Football Academy Chandragiri has received Rs 200,000. Runner-up Chitlang FC settled for Rs 100,000.
The match ended in a draw after both teams scored one goal each in the stipulated time. Bishwa Hayu scored for Chitlang FC while Sujit Budhathoki equalized for Kurdan. The match was then decided through a penalty shootout.

Kurdan's goalkeeper Santosh Mahat, who performed well in the final match of the tournament organized by Thaha Municipality and managed by Shikhar Club, was declared 'Man of the Match'. Santosh Gomba of Chitlang FC was declared the highest scorer in the individual awards.

Kurdan's Kamal Shrestha was declared the best defender, while Chitlang FC's Abhishek Khadka was declared the best goalkeeper. Similarly, Chitlang FC's Shubharaj Gole was declared the best player of the tournament. He received a prize of Rs 12,500. The best goalkeeper, best defender and highest scorer each received a prize of Rs 6,250.

The winners and runners-up teams of the tournament were awarded by Thaha Municipality Mayor Bishnu Bahadur Bista, Deputy Mayor Bharat Gopali, Sports Development Committee Coordinator Tikaram Syangtan, Chief Administrative Officer Niraj Poudel and the chairman of the organizing Shikhar Club, Bishwa Aryal. Seven teams participated in the competition, which started on Asad 3.
