FM Rupesh Jaiswal and Kritisara Adhikari have emerged champions in the 26th Open and 11th Women's National Chess Competition held at Hotel Kamaksha in Damak, Jhapa.

In the open category, Rupesh from Rautahat became the national champion for the third time by scoring 9.5 points from 11 games. Ashish Phuyal from Dolakha came second and Rajan Subedi came third.

In the women's category, Kritisara Adhikari from Jhapa won the title with 8.5 points. Pooja Bhandari came second and Nihana Shrestha came third.
