Mexico first team to reach knockout stage

Mexico qualified for the knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup on Friday. The co-hosts also became the first team to reach the knockout stages. Mexico secured a place in the top two after defeating South Korea 1-0 in Group A. The win gave Mexico six points from two games. Defeated South Korea is in second place with three points. Despite the defeat, South Korea still has a chance of advancing to the next round.
