France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has questioned the quality of the pitch at New Jersey Stadium in New York. Rabiot described it as being artificial. France beat Senegal 3-1 at the same stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday night.

The stadium is home to the NFL teams New York Giants and Jets. England will play their final group game against Panama on June 27 at the stadium, which will also host the final on July 19.

Rabiot, 31, played the entire game against Senegal and provided the assist for Bradley Barcola's second goal. He criticised the pitch after France's victory. "The pitch... there was nothing to say about it, I thought it was artificial because it was hard and difficult," Rabiot said after the match. Brazil forward Vinicius Junior had previously criticised the pitch. Vinicius had complained about the dryness after Brazil drew 1-1 with Morocco in their opening match. The pitch, which has a capacity of 78,576, was previously artificial but has been temporarily grassed for the World Cup.
