Bhuvan Nagarkoti took the lead in the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship on Wednesday with a score of 13-under 131.

He finished 4-under 68 on the second day at Gokarna Golf Club, edging amateur golfer Sadbhav Acharya by 2 strokes. Sadbhav is in second place with a total of 11-under 133 with a 6-under 66.

Subash Tamang and Shukra Bahadur Rai, who are playing in the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), are in third place with a total of 8-under 136. Subash finished with a 5-under 67 and Shukra finished with a 4-under 68.

Amateur Rahul Vishwakarma moved up to fifth place with a total of 6-under 138. He carded a 4-under 68. Tenzing Tshering and Wangchen Dhondup, who played at 5-under 139 and 3-under 141, are in sixth and seventh place respectively. Both amateurs played even-par 72.

Sanjay Lama and Toran Vikram Shahi shared eighth place with 2-under 142 overall. Sanjay shot 4-under 68 and Toran shot 2-over 74. Dinesh Prajapati, who shot 1-under 143 overall, is in tenth place. He finished the match at 2-over 74.

Bhuvan completed both the front and back nine at 2-under 34. He birdied the first and third holes. He played the front nine without a bogey. After this, he wasted a shot at the 10th hole but saved shots at the 11th, 14th and 15th holes.

He then made 4 consecutive birdies on the 12th-15th holes. He also saved a shot on the 17th and 18th holes. He completed the back nine at 5-under 31.

Shukra finished the front nine at 4-under 32. He birdied the second, third, seventh, eighth and ninth holes and missed a shot on the sixth hole. After this, he saved par on the remaining nine holes and played an even par 36 on the back nine.

At the end of the 36 holes, 25 players, including 18 pros and 7 amateurs, who scored 6 over 150, made the cut. Ramesh Adhikari, Nepal number one Neeraj Tamang, Bhuwan Kumar Rokka, Dhan Bahadur Thapa, Jayaram Shrestha, Purna Prasad Sharma, Rajendra Thapa Magar, Balabhadra Rai, Rupak Acharya, Sanjiv Bahadur Nepali, Surya Prasad Sharma and Suman Pariyar made the cut on the amateur side. Ritesh Tamang, Norbu Tshiring Sherpa and Soham Agarwal managed to make the cut.

Rame Magar, Ravi Khadka, Tanka Karki, Pradeep Kumar Lama and Deepak Magar failed to make the cut in the competition with the highest cash prize of Rs. 1.8 million of the season. The winner will receive Rs. 320,000, the second placer Rs. 206,000, the third placer Rs. 162,000 and the fourth placer Rs. 145,000. The Pro-Am competition will be held on Saturday.
