Panchpokhari Cricket Club has won the eighth Panchpokhari T-20 Sindhupalchowk district-level cricket tournament. Panchpokhari defeated Helambu Rural Municipality by 5 wickets in the final held at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Helambu, who elected to bat after winning the toss, could only score 121 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Player of the Final Buddhiman Pakhrin scored an unbeaten 57 runs as Panchpokhari achieved the target with 5 balls to spare.
Buddhiman hit 5 fours and 1 six in 56 balls. Opener Sharthak Dhital hit 2 fours in 25 balls for 23, Roshan Bik and Bipin Acharya were out for 5, and Aarvaman Tamang was out for 6 runs. Sachin Lekhak of Helambu took 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs, while Binod Tamang and Dorje Tshiring Hylmo took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Shivam Tiwari from Helambu had scored an unbeaten 68 runs. He hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in 51 balls. Similarly, Sachin had scored 35 runs in 34 balls and hit 3 fours. Manoj Khadka of Panchpokhari took 3 wickets in 4 overs for just 12 runs. Bipin, Sarthak and Vijay Kumar Dhital had 1 wicket each.
Sachin Lekhak of Helambu was adjudged Player of the Series in the competition organized by Sindhupalchowk District Cricket Association and Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality Sports Development Committee. He scored a double century in the group stage. He was the best batsman while Manoj Khadka of Panchpokhari was the best bowler.
In the semi-final held on Monday, Panchpokhari defeated Panchpokhari Himalayan Cricket Club by 33 runs and Helambu defeated Melamchi Municipality by 27 runs in the second semi-final.
