Biratnagar Kings on Monday announced the ‘retention’ of six players, including marquee player Sandeep Lamichhane, for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket.
Biratnagar said that it has retained Sandeep along with Bashir Ahmed, Lokesh Bam, Narayan Joshi, Pratish GC and Subash Bhandari. Similarly, the team has ‘released’ Naren Bhatt, Surya Tamang, Sahil Patel, Shankar Rana, Shravan Kisku, and Ayush Neupane.
After finishing in the top two positions in the league stage last season, Biratnagar played the qualifiers, but the team lost to Sudurpaschim Royals and Lumbini Lions in Qualifier 2. In the first season, the team failed to make it to the top four.
Last season, South Africa's Faf du Plessis and Merchant de Lange, New Zealand's Martin Guptill, Australia's Samuel Hezlett, Scotland's George Mansi, and America's Shubham Ranjan and Shehan Jayasuriya played for Biratnagar.
