16 Nepali athletes to compete in Asian Fencing

Nepal Fencing Association General Secretary Sujan Lal Shrestha has announced that Nepali athletes will compete in foil and EP events in the competition to be held in New Delhi, India from June 18-24.

A 19-member Nepali team, including 16 Nepali players, will participate in the Asian Fencing Championship.

Nepali players will compete in foil and EP events in the competition to be held in New Delhi, India from June 18-24, said Sujan Lal Shrestha, General Secretary of the Nepal Fencing Association.

Gyanendra Timilsina, Anup Bhandari, Budhist Bahadur Lama and Bhuwan Mallik will compete in the foil category for men and Anita Adhikari, Manisha Shrestha, Urmila Majhi and Sofia Chand for women.

Soybaman Shrestha, Jung Giri, Prashant Tamang and Sukiram Tamang will compete in the EP category for men and Anita Karki, Maya Chaudhary, Pujan Kumari Kumal and Kripa Gurung for women.

Omkar Singh is the head coach, Rajendra Gajurel is the coach and Alisa Adhikari is the manager. General Secretary Shrestha said that the players were selected based on their achievements in the 7th National Fencing Championship.

On Tuesday, National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta and NSC Executive Committee Member Sikka Suwal Shrestha bid farewell to the team heading there.
