The number 18 Bahini Adda Udayapur has emerged as the champion in the 'Pritipati Trophy' held at the Eastern Pritana Headquarters of the Nepal Army, Itahari. The 18 Bahini Adda became the champion by winning a total of 8 medals including 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze in the competition held in Itahari on Sunday.

The number 2 Bahini Adda Hile Dhankuta came second in the competition. No. 21 Bahini Jhapa came third. The champion, No. 18 Bahini, received a cash prize of Rs 51,000. No. 2 Bahini, which came second, received Rs 35,000 and No. 21 Bahini, which came third, received Rs 25,000.

The winner and runner-up teams were awarded prizes by the Eastern Pritana Headquarters' Pritana Pati, Lieutenant Colonel Gaurav Kumar KC, Assistant Lieutenant Colonel Diwakar Bikram Shah, Jhalendra Bhatrai and Bimal Kumar Basnet. Earlier, in the final of the volleyball tournament held on the occasion of the closing ceremony, Ranbhim Gana Khotang under No. 18 Bahini defeated Bhagwati Dal Gana Sunsari under No. 2 Bahini by 3-1.

Ranbhim won the first set 25-20, the second set 25-11, and Bhagwati Dal showed signs of a comeback by winning the third set 25-20. But the title was secured when the fourth set went in Ranbhim's favor 25-12.

The Pritanapati Trophy, which started on Jestha 18, included 8 sports including football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, boxing, judo and athletics. A total of 996 players, including 820 men and 176 women, selected from 10 battalions and 4 regiments of 3 brigades under the Eastern Region Headquarters, competed in these 8 sports. The best teams and players of the competition will compete for the Pradhan Senapati Trophy. The Army has stated that the Pradhan Senapati Trophy will be held in Kathmandu in the upcoming Bhadra.
