Sanjeev Dhungana has been unanimously elected as the president of the Sunsari District Cricket Association. The fourth annual general meeting of the association held in Inaruwa on Saturday elected a 15-member working committee under Dhungana's leadership unopposed.

Afzal Hussain was elected as the vice-president of the working committee, Govinda Poudel as the secretary and Abdullah Khan as the treasurer. The members are CP Poudel, Bikash Niraula, Tahir Husain, Jayabrat Sarkar, Ratan Rauniyar, Anand Agarwal, Nunudas Gupta, Sunoj Niraula, Shiva Yadav and Saroj Basnet.

According to outgoing president CP Poudel, the newly elected president Dhungana was previously the vice-president, while Poudel himself has been reappointed as the secretary. Afzal Hussain has been promoted from a member to the vice-president. Speaking at the general assembly, Koshi Province Sports Development Board member secretary Biplav Ghosh, Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) central member Arjun Poudel, and Koshi Province Cricket Association president Sarbajitraj Pandey discussed how Sunsari has made significant contributions to the development and expansion of Nepali cricket by successfully organizing national and local level competitions in recent times.

On the occasion of the general assembly, Kantipur journalist Arjun Subedi was honored for his contribution to the development of cricket in Sunsari and Koshi Province through journalism.

Cricket coach Pradeepraj Pandey, Rajkumar Pradhan, and photojournalist Guru Dhakal were also honored. Age group players U-16 Kabiraj Khatri and Rabin Mandal, U-19 Rohan Shah, Sameer Karki, senior players Prakash Karki and Suman Gahatraj were also honored.
