Hosts Mexico are also top with three points. They beat South Africa in their previous match. The result strengthens Mexico's chances of qualifying for the knockout stages along with South Korea.

The Czechs took the lead in the 59th minute at the Estadio Guadalajara when Ladislav Krejci headed home. South Korea's Hwang In-beom equalised in the 67th minute.
