Bishal Shrestha, appointed as the vice-president of the National Sports Council, assumed office on Thursday.

Bishal is the goalkeeper of the national football team. He retired from the national team some time ago.

The Nepal government appointed him as the vice-president of the National Sports Council on Wednesday. While assuming office, Vice-President Shrestha expressed confidence that since he has come to managerial responsibility from the field of play, he can contribute to the development of Nepali sports with the support and cooperation of everyone.

Along with the vice-president, newly appointed members Buddhichalaki Monalisa Khambu, table tennis player Sikka Suwal Shrestha, cricket player Shakti Prasad Gauchan, and football player Pawan Shahi were also welcomed to the NSC board. They were informed about the latest situation of sports by Council Member Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta.

Siddhi Byanjankar, Chief Advisor to the Ministry of Education and Sports, congratulated the newly appointed office bearers at the welcome program.
