The Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA) has renewed its agreement with Chinese sports company Lining. The two announced that they will continue the agreement they signed four years ago at a program organized on Thursday.

The Basketball Association and Lining signed a four-year agreement in 2022. The agreement was renewed for another four years after the expiration of the term. The agreement was signed in the presence of National Sports Council Member Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Siddhi Byanjanakar, and former captain of the national football team Upendraman Singh by Basketball Association President Bhim Singh Gurung and China Trading Company (CTC) CEO Rajen Maharjan.

According to the agreement, Lining will provide jerseys and necessary sports equipment to the national women's and men's teams from U-18 onwards. On the same occasion, the red, blue and white jerseys of the Nepali national basketball team were unveiled. Nepali national basketball team captain Sadish Pradhan, women's team captain Anusha Malla and Lining brand ambassador and national football team captain Angela Subba Tumbapo unveiled the jerseys.

CTC CEO Maharjan said that Lining has tried to establish a basketball culture in Nepal while signing a strategic agreement with NEBA in 2022 and that Lining will also collaborate with new upcoming players. Stating that the current agreement is worth 1 million rupees annually, he said that the proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will be spent on the national basketball tournament.

NEBA President Gurung said that a big brand is very important in international sports and will have a great psychological impact on a country like Nepal. He said that the agreement with Lining is expected to increase the morale of Nepali players. Member Secretary Mehta said that the government should work to develop sports by introducing sports business. Former football team captain Singh shared his experience that using branded merchandise has a huge impact on the performance of players.

Basketball captains Sadish and Anusha said that this collaboration with Lining will boost the morale of all basketball players. Brand ambassador Angela said that Lining's cooperation and support for Nepali sports is commendable and has motivated the players.
