DAV School has won the Asian E-Learning Jayakumarnath Shah Memorial Inter-School U-16 Cricket Tournament for the second consecutive time.

DAV defeated Nepal Police School by 7 wickets in the rain-affected final at the Mulpani Cricket Ground. DAV won the match based on the Duckworth-Lewis method.

DAV received Rs 150,000 and the runner-up Police School received Rs 75,000. Chasing a target of 102 runs, DAV scored 17 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 4.1 overs when the match was called off due to rain on Wednesday. The match was then reduced to 12 overs and DAV was given a target of 70 runs according to the Duckworth-Lewis method. DAV achieved the target in 10.5 overs, losing 3 wickets. In DAV's victory, Aarush Jha scored an unbeaten 26 runs in 30 balls, including 3 fours. Biraj Jaiswal scored 22 and Prasidh Jaisi scored 6 runs. Satyam Basnet was out for 2 runs while Kamal Shahi remained unbeaten on 3 runs. Kamal Shahi was declared the ‘Pick Point Player of the Match’.

Priyanshu Kishore Raut and Sunil Thakur of Police School took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Nepal Police School, which won the toss on Tuesday and elected to bat first, scored 101 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

24 teams participated in the competition organized by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association.

Swaraj Chaulagain of James School was selected as the emerging player in the competition. He scored 103 runs and took 12 wickets throughout the competition. He received a special gift from the locker room along with Rs 5,000.

Rajdeep Acharya of Sainik Amabika was the best batsman. He scored 239 runs in 4 matches. He received a bat from the 'locker room' along with 5,000 and a special gift from 'Dark Fantasy'. Kunjan Acharya of DAV was declared the best bowler with 13 wickets. DAV's Prasid Jaisi was named the best player of the tournament. He scored 273 runs and took 7 wickets. He received a kit bag with 10,000 rupees.

The winning team and players were awarded by the main sponsor Asian E-Learning Pvt. Ltd. Director Meena Limbu, Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka, E-Sewa Brand Officer Bimom Dangol, Organizing Association President Diwakar Ghale, and others.
