Hari Bahadur Thapa has been elected as the president of the Rupandehi District Cricket Association. Thapa was elected as the president at the 30th annual general meeting and fifth convention of the association held in Bhairahawa on Monday.

119 votes were cast in the voting held on Monday in the association with 126 voters. Thapa, the presidential candidate, won with 69 votes, while his nearest rival, cricketer Shakti Gauchan, received 49 votes.

Thapa has been elected as the president for the second term. Gauchan and Thapa were defeated in the election held four years ago.

In this election, Thapa and Gauchan formed their own teams and contested the election. Khemraj Bhusal was elected as the vice president, Uday Kumar Mallik as the secretary, and Dhiraj Adhikari Chhetri as the treasurer.

Uma Adhikari was elected as the women member of the association and Prashant Bikram Malla, Niraj Pratap Khand, Punit Pokharel, Manoj Bhandari, Bhuwan Pandey, Vijay Singh Gyawali, Krishna Kumar Kunwar, Jwales Prasad Pradhan, Antimi Thapa and Tara Prasad Pathak were elected as other members, informed the polling officer Prakash Neupane.
