Batting after winning the toss at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground, Police School scored 101 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Mohammad Abbas Safi scored an unbeaten 33, Shyambabu Thakur contributed 12 and Ashutosh Mishra contributed 10 runs.
Kamal Shahi of DAV School took 4 for the loss of 11 runs in 4 overs, while Kunjan Acharya and Prasidh Jaisi took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a target of 102 runs, the match was stopped due to rain when DAV scored 17 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 4.1 overs. DAV’s Aarush Jha was unbeaten on 7 runs and Biraj Jaiswal was unbeaten on zero. Prasidh Jaisi was dismissed for 6 and Satyam Basnet for 2 runs.
The match will resume from 7 am on Wednesday after the rain continued, the organisers Kathmandu District Cricket Association have said. The winner will receive Rs 150,000 and the runner-up Rs 75,000.
