Times and Engineering College have reached the quarterfinals of the 5th Nakhipot Open Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament.

Times defeated Elite by a score of 79-51 at the covered hall of the host Nakhipot Youth Club. Kushal Shakya of Times scored 14 points.

Times, which took a 22-11 lead in the first quarter, fell behind by a narrow margin of 14-15 in the second. Times increased the margin of victory by leading 21-13 in the third and 22-12 in the fourth quarter.

Engineering defeated Royals by a score of 54-48 in overtime. The regulation time ended in a tie of 46-46. Engineering added 8 points and Royals added 2 points in overtime. Sameer Upreti of the winners scored 20 points.

On the girls side, Ballers defeated NCCS by a score of 33-11. Jessica Lama of Ballers added 13 points. This is the first win for the Bowlers in two matches. There are 3 teams in this group including the Bowlers and NCCS. Training Ground won the first match with one match remaining. This is the first match for NCCS. All three teams still have a chance of reaching the semi-finals.
