DAV defeated James School by 44 runs in the first semi-final of the third edition of the Asian E-Learning Jayakumarnath Shah Memorial U-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament on Monday.

DAV defeated James School by 44 runs in the first semi-final at the Upper Cricket Ground in Mulpani on Monday. DAV won the toss and scored 130 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Prasidh Jaisi scored 49 runs in 28 balls with 9 fours. Biraj Jaiswal scored 37, Satyam Basnet scored 16 and Mayank Sah scored 10 runs. Swaraj Chaulagain of James took 3 wickets while Pragav Pandey, Prachet Lakhotia and Anjan Jha took 1 wicket each.
In reply, James could only score 86 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Swaraj Chaulagain could not give the team a victory despite scoring 27 runs. Sudish Poudel scored 16 and Prachet Lakhotia scored 15 runs. DAV's Kunjan Acharya took 2 wickets, Prasidh Jaishi, Kamal Shahi and Keshav Agarwal took 1 wicket each. Prasidh Jaishi was declared the 'Peak Point Player of the Match'.
In the other semi-final, Police defeated Sainik Residential College by 8 runs. Police School, which won the toss, scored 146 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Priyanshu Kishore Raut scored 36, Mohammad Abbas Safi scored 32, Rakesh Kumar Sah scored an unbeaten 21 and Sunil Thakur scored 20 runs. Sainik's Safal Poudel took 3 wickets for the loss of 25 runs in 4 overs. Abhash KC and Roshan Tiwari took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Sainik lost all their wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and scored only 138 runs. Rajdeep Acharya top-scored with 64, Rishabh Sah with 19 and Roshan Tiwari with 11 runs. Police's Priyanshu Kishore, Sunil Thakur, Aryan Sah, Sujit Yadav and Sagar Singh took 1 wicket each. Priyanshu was named player of the match.
The final match will be held at the Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground on Tuesday. The winner of the tournament, organized by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association, will receive a prize of Rs 150,000 and the runner-up will receive Rs 75,000.
