Laligurans National Academy and Himarshmi reached the semifinals of the 2nd National Open Angels Heart Inter-School/College Level Men's Volleyball Tournament on Monday.
At the Angels Sports Academy and Recreation Center, Laliguras defeated St. Lawrence 25-20, 23-25, 17-15. Himarshmi defeated the host Angels Heart Secondary School in straight sets of 27-25 and 25-20.
Kalyan Secondary School and Newton also secured a place in the semifinals. Kalyan defeated Greenfield 23-25, 25-17 and 15-5, while Newton won over Chanakya 25-21, 25-22.
The semifinals will be played between Newton and Kalyan and Laliguras and Himarshmi, Angels Heart Vice Principal Dil Bahadur Budhathoki said.
The competition will conclude on Tuesday. The top three teams will receive cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. The best players, spikers, lifters, servers, blockers and defenders will also be awarded cash prizes.
